EarthCraft Turns a Classroom Into a Planet
EarthCraft is a whole-class simulation in which students manage continents, institutions and activist groups while trying to leave the world better than they found it.
Field notes
EarthCraft structures a term-long classroom simulation around a printed world map and eleven competing or cooperating teams, including continents, the United Nations, the World Bank, Greenpeace, Palestine and Anonymous. Students negotiate resources and agreements, then submit food, cash, steel and energy figures for checking before leaders announce decisions. The site says the Fates—two students with discretion over unresolved rules—handle events and edge cases. Its classroom quotations date from 2015–2017, while the current page points toward a future Kickstarter.
