Editorial interest 86/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

An invite-only desktop communicator for voice, chat, rooms, files, and in-app games, built around device-held identity and direct connections.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-11 issue.

Field notes

DoubleSlash creates a device-held keypair and connects people through signed, expiring d:// invites rather than accounts or searchable profiles. Direct connections can fall back to a chosen supernode, which the site says relays unreadable traffic while still exposing peer and room IDs, timing, and data volume. The current client lists chat, voice, file transfer, rooms for up to 32 people, in-app pages, and multiplayer games as shipped. Video calling, screen sharing, and broader camera support remain in progress.
