Fediverse Jurisdiction Observatory
A public data observatory examining which jurisdictions fediverse servers appear connected to, what operators declare, and where those answers disagree.
Field notes
The project compares independently resolved hosting locations with domain clues and each operator’s stated governing law, preserving multiple jurisdictions when the evidence does not support a primary answer. Its infrastructure view reports that 24,887 servers share an address with another server, while only 34 have public registration records. The dataset also tracks whether operators have left a shipped privacy policy unchanged and separates twelve-week posting activity from monthly-active counts.
