LYRA, a Compass for the Next Note
A local composition assistant that helps musicians explore melodies, chord progressions, and expressive directions before exporting the result to a DAW.
Field notes
The workflow starts with a piano-roll phrase, MIDI step input, or a supplied example, then presents continuations and chord progressions that can be auditioned before acceptance. The interface also exposes chord guides and four expressive controls—Energy, Tension, Surprise, and Resolution—rather than treating the output as a finished composition. The preview supports 1-, 2-, 4-, or 8-bar phrases and exports melody and harmony as separate MIDI tracks for use in a compatible DAW.
